The 1956 Jaguar XK140 that launched the racing career of Denise McCluggage to be featured at Motorsports Hall of Fame of America Induction on March 8.

Tucked away in a barn for more than three decades sat a Jaguar XK140 that one automotive enthusiast always intended to restore but never did.

Denise McCluggage’s whole life was spent doing things women weren’t supposed to do. In an age when the proper thing for a lady was to marry a strong man and have perfect children while her husband worked, Denise decided to race cars instead.

Denise McCluggage will be inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in early March as a member of a Class of 2022. While she won’t be there, she died in 2015 at the age of 88, the car in which she won her first race will be.
